16Personalities

Master graduation project

Project breif

This report evaluates the UI and UX design project for the 16Personalities application, a popular platform for personality assessments based on the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). The project aimed to enhance user engagement and satisfaction by creating an intuitive, visually appealing, and mobile-responsive interface. Key strengths of the design include a user-centred approach that emphasizes ease of navigation, clear content presentation, and interactive elements that sustain user interest throughout the assessment process. However, the project also revealed areas for improvement, particularly in personalization and social interaction. Users desired more tailored insights and enhanced social features that could foster greater community engagement. This report reflects on the achievements and challenges of the project, offering insights into the effectiveness of the current design and suggesting directions for future development.

By focusing on these areas, the following research questions will be inquired:

1. How do users perceive the overall usability of the app’s interface, and what specific elements (e.g., navigation, layout, colour scheme) most significantly impact their experience?

2. What are the common pain points or challenges users face when interacting with the app, and how can these be addressed through design improvements?

3. How does Gen Z user demographic group interact with the app, and how can the design be optimized to accommodate diverse user groups?

The questionnaire included questions about 16Personalities so that respondents could better understand and provide more authentic ideas and feedback on the application design. After receiving the results, I started analysing the data and comparing them with my ideas to make changes. The project must be made more valuable to make the application meet the market requirement. Also, at this point, I can picture the user demographic for the application. Then, two user personas were used to meet different requirements.
